20-40 You are in the early stages of creating
a successful small business and still need to spend a lot of time
planning for and developing your game plan. If at all possible, wait to
officially start your small business until you score much higher on this
checklist. If you have already started your new business, try to set
aside the next one to two weeks to work through all the necessary
planning steps using the questions above as your guide.

You have completed some of the necessary steps to grow your small
business, but still have several major areas you have either not thought

Identify the weaknesses in your business plan and work hard to rectify
them, but also remember to focus on implementing your ideas, following
through on your marketing plan, and developing a network of strategic

create specific Action Plans and hold you accountable for following
through on your ideas.
86-100 If you scored in this range you
probably have virtually all of the critical components in place to
position your small business for strong revenue growth. However, if
you're not completely satisfied with how rapidly your business is
growing or have a specific area of concern, be sure to
